Mr.D4vids Build Log

Post by d4vid4f » Sun Feb 11, 2018 1:42 pm

Hello Everyone,

My name is David, Saludos from Los Angeles!

Figured I would start my own build log.

I am currently working on a transparent green build using Helders AIO 2.0.

Not new to tinkering and such but definitely have loads and loads to learn.

Just want to thank all the members and mods for the great community and all the help everyone has posted.

AIO from Retro gaming now

Handheld Legends Screen Surround

Used an Ebay 4000MA s2 battery,
This is pretty good so far, used an S3 first time around and does not fit well unless you cut out two of the battery tray walls, Not recommended to use the S3.
I am currently stuck in the build process I cannot get the audio to work.

My wiring looks correct I have used the Config And Comand Texts from Helders thread.
Ive adjusted the volume in the ALS mixer, and cannot get any audio, only if I plug in my head phones I just get static. Not sure what else might be the issue.
Any Help is much appreciated.

Audio wiring seems fine. Maybe re flow the connections on pwm0 and pwm1. Also can you confirm the text added to the config.txt.

I like the battery set up, I’ll have to keep that in mind for a future build!

Hey RodoCop, I downloaded both the Config.txt and the cmdline.txt files from the Helder support thread and replaced the originals on the SD card. I didn't edit the actual text.

I am using a no clean lead free solder so the solder points look a bit dull. I will try and remelt them.

Not sure what else it could be?

Hey Pyro4fun, it does require some removal of material from the battery tray. The Pogo pins are nice but they are a lot of work for little benefit imo, yes you can remove the battery easily but once it the build is done I doubt I will be removing the battery.

I used them in the first build I haven't decided on this build just yet we will see.

You can cut the plastic casing off that battery and it will fit in the case exactly, actually you can even have a little more room for wires (if you forgo pogo pins) if you remove a small piece of insulating plastic and replace it with tape.

It should be okay then. But confirm that this is at the bottom of the config.txt

dtoverlay=pwm-2chan,pin=18,func=2,pin2=13,func2=4

To see the file type sudo nano /boot/config.txt

You know I've done that before with other battery types, it never occurred to me on this battery. Mainly 18650's from laptops.

This would make it a lot easier/better to solder in the JST connectors.

Thanks for the tip.
