I spent a lot of time deciding on a color scheme. I'm happy with how this little guy turned out.

Update:

I ended up replacing the NES buttons and D-pad with classic Gameboy ones. The buttons sat just a little too low and were a bit uncomfortable to use. DMG ones feel great. The D-pad I liked but I couldn't feel that nicely defined "popping" that you get when depressing the membrane. I get a better feel when using the DMG one.

I also seemed to have wired the analog incorrectly and wound up in the same situation as another forum member where everything seemed to work fine accept diagonal down right wouldn't register. Rerouting the wires fixed it.

Lastly, I went with a darker grey for the start and select button membrane. The ones from Retro Modding are nice and they feel a bit harder and less mushy than the ones included with most DMG cases.

I used clamps to keep anything from moving, ensuring the epoxy cured well. The epoxy package said something about it setting in 5 minutes, but you really want to make sure you let it cure at least over night. Also this stuff smells awful so do it somewhere well ventilated. I don't have it pictured here, but on the other side of the case (the front), I have the plastic screen protector that came with the Gameboy case in place to keep the clamps from clamping directly to the screen and likely damaging it. I originally bought clamps from Home Depot, but the clamping force was really strong and I worried about it bending or marring the case. I found these cheap plastic clamps from Harbor Freight that were perfect for the job since the clamping force was much lighter.
