great work (as always).....

unfortunately you've given me the bug on this one....
i'm gonna have to do one of these as well...

thanks...

PS. if you have a spare board, i'd gladly take one of your hands (bare or populated)
i'm aware of Helder on Oshpark, but that requires too much wiring to be done

.

Nice work! seeing those X and Y buttons on the sides gave me an idea you could have done to not have them glued in, something the new mintyPi v3 is using. I might have to give it a go this weekend about making a similar board like yours. Did you do any kind of safe shutdown?

Waiting for your work :D

If you mean the buttons on the left and right it’s not glued, the shell is holding them.

Yes i do by HoolyHoo script

that no problem...

i'm also gonna have a crack at making my own board.....

most probably wont be are feature packed as your or what Helder will whip up....

but it will give my good practice in doing an AIO type of board

and something that Helder noticed, these GBC toys are not all exactly the same....
even thou looking at them a bit closer now the difference are very negligible, but still there's differences...

either in
thickness
Dpad placement/opening
or completely different backing (i could be wrong on this, but the @ivanretrobit builds have a flip part to the back of theirs)

nether the less I've got a couple of these toys, so making a board from scratch seems like a good project for this.....

I'll release them on my Github once they prove to work well. So you can always modify it yourself to your liking but don't let me stop you from trying your hand at this.

This is my board outline if anyone is interested to start his project.
It is designed to be forced to stick in the housing.

Only issue I see is that if the buttons are pressed hard will it move the pcb inward from the pressure on the shell holding it in place? The one I plan use will have the pegs in the center and corners hold the pcb firmly in place using some 3D plastic shims. If yours is not going to move at all even if pressed in then that is the way to go.

Thanks for the share too.

The board itself not enough to hold everything i use one screw to hold the board . But this is not a solution to all the Bk gameboy shapes

There is something in common between them all
this screw (according to my knowledge)

I think this screw + pi and battery pressure is enough to hold the board.

And if you can print a 3d part It will be better + one board support all the gameboy shapes.
