Pretty basic build with a usb micro sdcard reader buried inside of a game cartridge (prs-tech board with the corner cutoff to accommodate the usb reader). While its great for killing time playing old games it's primarily used to watch videos while on my lunch break at work to keep my phone available for other things.

Nice how did you wire up the SD card? You must have found the extra USB port on the inside, I was wondering when someone was going to use it for something!! Nice one

Looks good from the outside! I'm interested to see the inside of this build.

I actually soldered wires directly to the pcb contacts for the usb port on the backboard. Then soldered the four wires directly to the cartridge reader. Inside the game cartridge i soldered directly to the usb pins on the (kingston) micro sd card reader and utilized the extra solder pads on the prs-tech board to make the connection to the cartridge reader.

My first attempt i did use the extra usb port but the provided wires were a bit too short and i had a little difficulty holding the shell half closed and getting my chubby fingers in there to plug it in. So i decided to tap the usb port on the back board. This made closing up the shell a lot easier and came out looking pretty clean

It's not the cleanest job i will admit, i didn't have all of the pieces when i assembled it. So needless to say i opened it up more times than i probably should have thus messing up my screen bracket. Now that i have things just about the way i want them i may redo the front half of the shell. The backhalf is pretty much perfect imo.

Nice idea, yeah I can see what you mean, other option would be to find a JST SH 4pin cable that's much longer! At least the way you have done it if you need the USB port you just have the unplug the cart, as well as neatening the wiring very impressed

Thank you! Unplugging the cartridge is no big deal which is why i opted to go that route, the only inconvenience is having to reboot it to do so. Really not an issue lol
