TinkerBoys V2.2
Amazon Screen with Gearbest Board Module
2.5mAh Battery
Aliexpress Powerboost
Buttons, Case, Silicone Gamepads Ebay/Aliexpress
Charging, Full Battery and Load Diodes

Well, It was a bit of a struggle for a person with no or minimum soldering skills. First project with a serious learning curve!
No the prettiest around here, but it is mine. I like to challenge myself and I am happy with the results.
It plays (RP0 is a bit slow), the sound is kinda okay, can't ask much from the 0. The screen is amazing, not HyperPixel amazing, but does the job, no lag. I am having some issues with one of the buttons, but I think is the silicone pad that is not in the correct position.

Without further ado,
Thank you, everybody, here for their experiences and help.

Good job!

So you used a BW screen but with a Gearbest board, and that worked? Which variant?

Those look like dmg buttons on the back - how did you mount those in that area? Using tactile buttons or pcb?

Yeah, works like a charm, you just wire it as it were to be a Gearbest one. It is the Variant 7.
The Buttons on the back were done with DMG Buttons. Bit macgyver style. 12mm tactile buttons normally wired. Filled the back of the DMG buttons with hot glue until they "touch". I can take a pic later to show it :)
Going for a new build once I have more parts and time. I'm still considering a build with a Pi3 A+. Because the Pi0 is a bit slow. I have an Arcade Joystick case with a Pi 3B and you can notice the difference.

I removed it where the screws would close the case, i just made it bigger :)

Its not the best photo quality, but hope it helps :)

I am fixing an issue at the moment where the screen seems that it is not getting enough power. gonna leave the battery charging for a bit, see if it helps. Otherwise, need to check if it is the powerboost or the battery.
