Circuit Sword - Dual 3DS analogs w/ HDMI Volume combo

Hello,
This is my first Circuit Sword build. I used and additional volume pot under the HDMI backboard, but still in the volume location. I’m happy with how that turned out. The upgraded 640x480 screen looks FANTASTIC. It was a little extra work to get it in there, but well worth it. One thing I”m not sold on is the shoulder button implementation. I used soft tacts for them, but I may try something else. I have one more Circuit Sword to knock out and I may try to do something similar to my latest other build. This is my video of my latest non CS build. I don’t want to spoil the shoulder button implementation, and I hope it’s OK to link my own video. I am not about spamming videos everywhere, but I think this one is relevant for my next Circuit Sword build as I may iterate on the shoulder button design.

Looks great. I like the volume wheel under the HDMI port. Do you have any pictures of the inside?

Thanks! I have a couple. Nothing too majorly out of the ordinary going on though. The volume pot is mounted in a curved white block of PLA under the HDMI backboard with epoxy. I just have the 3DS sliders mounted to the board with high temp hot glue. They have PSP 1000 dust discs under the caps to help against debris. I milled the front shell down in 2 steps for the analog sticks. 1 step for the squarish analog body and then one more rounded step to make room for the PSP dust disc (I should learn the name of those things at some point). This way there is no friction in the analog sticks movements. I could tear it down to take more pics if you like, but I think it’s pretty much just standard with the popular screen bracket and all :)

Just what I was looking for, thanks! I checked out your youtube video too, and the hidden shoulder buttons are very cool. Looking forward to the implementation on a DMG case. Should have a lot more room to work with. The rest of your projects are very well done too. Keep it up!

Thanks! HD, and it is beautiful. A little work fitting it though. I milled the inside of the shell and removed some of the plastic from the screen to get it to fit. I also left off the front metal housing of the screen, and used black tape to block the light leakage.

Where did you find the screen bracket that fits the 3DS analog sticks?
