Help converting to 5v

New screen board?
new screen controller board? Did the check to see if it ran off of 5v right out of the box and didn't. I need some help modifying it.

Help converting to 5v
Hey I received a BW screen that is not noted in the wiki can anyone help me?

Can you read my the name on the back of that 8 pin chip on the bottom right if the screen ?

well I got impatient and googled all of the different components of the board and looking at similarities in other boards. I found out that the xl1509 chip is the one to use to get five volts using the second pin. After saying a prayer i decided to plug it up to my pi and power it up and it worked like a charm. Right now it is in a jumper cable format, but i want to run power and ground directly from the second pin and ground side of the xl1509 chip to see if i can correct the graininess of the screen.

You are correct the second pin is the 5v pin.
I would recommend to check all the connection and verified that no cables or solder are touching in any way.
Did you test the monitor before connecting to the PI ?
You get a nice picture at the beginning witch means that you are in the right track.
In case anyone else is curious, you rotate the board until the chip is aligned upright (dent, dot or notch at the top, ridge at the bottom) and start counting at the top left and count the pins anti-clockwise:
