My GameBoy Zero Project, little help needed

Post by Sasherz » Wed Feb 21, 2018 10:49 am

I orderd a few parts now, my project is not gonna start until summer as of Kite
now for the long wait on getting the parts.
but while I wait I can get the last parts that I need.

---------------------------------------------------

the stuff I bough so far (NOT YET ARRIVED):
From Kite: Circuit Sword + Accessories (included) £130
From Kite: 640x480 HD LCD + adapter £65
From Kite: Additional back board with volume wheel + cable £6
All 3 of items, yeah I dont need all of it, but jsut in case I change my mind, better safe than sorry
and I might tackle the project of upgrading to 640 screen when I feel Im comfertable about it.

Ebay Stuff:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/140p-momentane ... 2680771279 (yeha 140 might be overkill, but hey, atleast I got abit of selection and backup :P ) (on its way)

YaYa: labels

---------------------------------------------------

what I allready have/recived:
1x Gameboy black shell
1x gameboy orange see through shell
1x d-pad black button
4x A/B/X/Y buttons (all black)
1x grey start/select switch
1x PSP Style Bracket with Included Button Well Guides And Screws (HoolyHoo) (white, need to be colored either black or orange)
Dextech: Custom GBZ 5000mAh lipo battery
handheldlegend: screen/glass
handheldlegend: Step Drill Bit 3-12mm
5x PSP1000 Joysticks (if one or two are DOA)

---------------------------------------------------

stuff I do need:
gameboy cartridge, pref original
memorycard
fine sandpaper for sanding down the last reminding pegs that needed to be cut down, think I will use wet sandpaper

---------------------------------------------------

Stuff I do want
1: I do need a seethrough orange game cartridge, close to original as possible
2: custom screen/glass? I would like a custom text on the border, if possible
3: custom labels, YaYa has some prefixedlabels, but would love to get custom phonenumber and such
4: custom A/B/X/Y buttons, kinda like the xbox one elite controller has with the A/B/X/Y buttons

1.) Not sure there is such thing as original black membranes, I thought all game boys had grey, you can buy colored ones online though, retro modding sells them, maybe some other places too, (check deadpan robot, kitschbent)
https://www.retromodding.com/collection ... 5390433805
2.) Never once seen a clear orange one, but you can check ebay, if you're after original carts check local shops or ebay, I typically buy Japanese carts from ebay seller Japan_4_You:

EDIT
After a quick google search, kitsch-bent sells clear orange one:

3.)As for custom glass, You may be able to find someone, or you can check here, for a bit more info on how to do it yourself. You can buy some plain glass and apply printed stickers yourself:

Ah. Didn't realize they were sold out. Check kitsch bent. You can get the silicone buttons themselves that also come with the select start, I think these eliminate the need for a separate set of silicone membranes too.
