The pi's internal 3v3 regulator should be able to feed enough current (though there is no official spec list and there is a lot of discussion about this).
Just do a good test run if everything is connected and keep an eye (or finger) on the pi regulator for extreme heat development.
But it should be fine as Hex uses the same setup.
Edit: For the screen fuzziness, try connecting your screen with some good shielded wire.
Composit signals are very interfence (wich can cause fuzziness) sensitive, good shielding can prevent that.
Connect the shielding to the boards ground pad and the square pad on the pi's tv out.
Try to keep the unshielded ends as short as posible
You wil not get a hd picture but it can clean up your image quality.
