Making a GBZ (no AIO)

Post by ahnahabed » Mon Jul 31, 2017 10:22 pm

So what extra parts will i need if i just go with a PCB?
fairly new to this, saw the original guide about a year ago but was too intimated but recently saw some custom parts to make it all easier.
obviously getting an AIO isnt very easy right now but im willing to work around it. just need some help from you guys!

Thanks so much

Hello.

It really depends on what you want to put in you GBZ.

But for minimum without cartidge reader :

- 1 control board : teensy or Leonardo etc.. (except if you go GPIO controls)
- 1 Audio amp (Pam 8403 or something similar)
- 1 speaker
- some resistors (check wiki) for low filter pass
- 1 volume wheel
- 1 charging port (USB mini, or micro, or even Type C)
- 1 Powerboost (or banggood version)
- 1 power switch
- 1 battery

And of course DMG shell, buttons etc...

:)

Hi thank you for your response
This does help but to be more exact im looking for something more along the lines of

AIO(all of its contents) minus PCB = what parts.
just want to know what a standard AIO has that a pcb doesnt have

Depending of what kind of AIO you want to use.

If you go the Kite's SAIO way it includes almost everything. You just need the case, buttons, battery, speaker and a few minor things like JST wires for the battery.

Go check Kite and Helder's threads to see what they include and what you need to purchase if you are interested in using them. Kite has a list, Helder may have a similar one.
