I Like Big Batteries! (and i cannot lie)

Post by MadModder » Sun Aug 27, 2017 9:54 pm

I'm somewhat new to modding. I got chops, but I research everything before I dive into a new project. I fell in love with wermy's build video on YouTube and want to gather some info on the batteries. See...I don't always like "Recommended' parts. In this case, I want to use this mainly for home and long road trips, which says to me, that I need more battery time. What is the biggest battery (capacity) you have seen someone stuff into one of these? Would it be possible (or wise) to use a 3.7 5000mah battery?

Possible and no more risky than any other lipo. Will all depend on how your build your gbz, how you mod the shell and what parts you use as to what space you're left over with 😎

DexTech's battery is rated at 3.7 6000mAh. I'm planning on stuffing that bad boy into my SAIO build.

Just an FYI, shipping is taking about a month right now. I received mine in the U.S. in exactly a month. Some have been waiting longer.

I have 2 Samsung phone batteries wired together in mine. One is 3100 and one is 2000 so I effectively have a very slim 5100mAh in my unit. I literally just wired it up and am currently charging it so I am not sure how long it will run for yet.

EDIT: Such beautiful. Much cable managed. So Samsung. Wow.

Dude, you have a fire waiting to happen. Shorten up the exposed wire on your 5v and GND. You're begging for a short.

You should have a minimum amount of exposed wire left over.

They don't move around in there but I suppose I could shorten them. I have had it like that for nearly a year with no issues. Thanks though.

all it takes is one time and I know closing GBZs are a pain. Just trying to help you be safe.
