Help removing controller board from BW screen Variant 8

Tonight I fully disassembled my BW screen without issue, except one: how do I remove the controller board from the screen without damaging either? It appears to be very well attached with thick double sided tape. It didn't come away easy and I didn't want to force it for fear of cracking either the screen or the board. My thought was to heat slightly with a hair dryer to make the glue a bit softer. Any other suggestions from others who overcame a similar problem?
This is my first post on my journey to build a functional Game Boy Zero! Thanks in advance for the advice - this site and board have been super helpful already.

Yep, hair dryer would be your best bet to heat it up without damaging anything and hopefully loosen it up enough to remove it easily. I've also had good luck with taking a straight razor and slicing down the middle of double sided tape like that (if there's room). Rubbing alcohol or acetone may also loosen it up.

Thanks. I'll give both a try and report back. I can see the tape sticking out one edge so the razor technique might work with a loose razor.

Thanks wermy!
The hair dryer did the trick. It still took a little force, but once it was nice and warm it started peeling away before I felt like I was applying too much force. The razor technique was less successful, as even a new blade just wanted to get stuck in the gummy tape.
Tonight I plan to test out the screen and mount, assuming there are no issues. I'll be back if I have any!
