Powerboost low battery LED

Anyone know if/how you can hook an external led to the powerboost to give the user a green or red light depending on the battery charge state? I'm thinking of drilling a small hole in the GBZ somewhere and have it poking through.

Should be able to desolder the light and extend it outwards. Or maybe just solder a second led in the same place and extend it out?
