[SOLVED] Powerboost - no external power?

I've wired up my Powerboost and it appears everything works except for the external power. Hooking up the battery makes the light come on, flipping the switch makes it turn off and on as expected, but when I plug it in, I get nothing. This is the case whether I'm using the breakout board or the built-on micro usb dock. Given that last part, is it possible the unit isn't functioning properly? Or does hooking up a breakout board disable the built-on micro usb? Anything else I should check?

Once again, I wandered into my own solution. It seems that somehow there was a short in my micro usb breakout board that disappeared as soon as I excavated it from the gallon of hot glue I had placed on it. That short was preventing either charging option from functioning, but not the battery power function.
