[SOLVED] Retropie can't save / load states

Hi I'm having trouble with the save state system. I can acces all other hotkey functionality like reset, select save slot etc. but using select + R or select + L won't do anything. Any idea why this might be?

The obvious would be: are your L and R buttons working at all?

Or : didn’t you swap L/R with 1 and 2... eg L1=L2 ?

Yes they are!

You mean "Left shoulder" vs "Left Trigger"? Tried both...

Ok I got it. turns out that because I'm connected via mk_arkade_joystick, my input is an emulated keyboard. For keyboards, the standard save is F2/F4, while weirdly, all other hotkeys are the same as on a controller.
Editing /opt/configs/all/retroarch.cfg changed it!
