USB power pack

So like many on this forum I am in the process of attempting my first build. I am currently trying to assemble the parts I will need for as little as possible while trying to understand the reason why I need what I need. I have been looking at batteries and charge/boost modules and wondered if I could actually use the guys from a small USB battery pack I have that sits gathering dust in a drawer?

This is the pack in question but it seems that it does everything I am looking for.

Will this work or am I missing something I haven't thought about?

This board will not allow you to play and charge at the same time.
Take a look at this thread ---> http://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 811#p46811

Thanks for the answer.

Will that be the only desirable feature missing though? Will it work adequately apart from that?

for sure it will work, you will be able to charge a battery with that, but with the device switched off.
But this is quite a big PCB, you can definitely get smaller one. Do not forget that in the GameBoy space is a luxe that we are missing.
And you can get smaller with charge/discharge ability (like the powerboost 1000c).
It's up to you...

Thanks again.

I am waiting on 2 faulty Advances being delivered so they will be my cases of choice. If I cant fit this board in I will defo get something else, but for the first build I really want to use what I have about the house as much as possible. That way I when I have learned the pitfalls my cash will be going into the second build which will hopefully be much better.
