Hello All,

I am sure there are some fellow aussies around. Where do you source your batteries from? Currently wanting as large as possible cell without having to cut too much out of the DMG shell. Any ideas?

I know the UK members get alot of 4800MAH S2 batteries but unable to find the same locally. Any help would be great.

Lastly, if this has already been asked i do apologise. I had a look first however i cannot confirm i am looking/posting in the correct subforum.

Kind Regards,

TheBeardedJake

Hey,

I live in Perth and order these:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Extended-Thi ... 2749.l2649

They come in a few days.

Fit the battery bay with no requirement to mod it.

I just remove the white sticker and wrap in black tape....just my preference.

3600mAh which isn't too shabby.

I've used bigger but then we're talking modding the case.

Thanks LPhillimore,

If i needed to cut/mod the battery compartment to get a bigger cell in how much space would a larger battery use up roughly?

Hard to say, some batteries are thicker, others longer / wider.

Something like this might be worth a punt.

Ive used one before but no longer have it for reference.

From memory just the sides of the bay needed removing.

I bought that same battery and after few months its just got stuffed adlnd stopped working.

One alternative I found was some AA 2400mah 1.2v with tab from jaycar. Bramd powertech.
If connected in serie or parallel configuration we may be able to get around 4800mah without compromise the battery life time.

I will give a try in my next project.
