Adafruit screen output

So I've bought an adafruit screen as shown in the guide but don't seem to be able to get an output. I have the retropie OS on a SD card in my raspberry pi zero (1.3V) and connected it to the power supply with no luck. It's probaly something stupid but any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advanced.
