Another post about a screen! BW variation Please help!

Post by Jaspermcwolffe » Fri Dec 29, 2017 1:29 am

Hello! So this is my first build, and decided to try the GBZ, after all it looked pretty easy (sarcasm). I've done a little research and can't find a solution to my screen problem. I tried to see if I could convert it to 5v, but nothing I tried worked. I'm not too knowledgeable with electronics but it appears to be some variation of the mysterious bw screen. I did purchase this knowing I might have some trouble but I didnt think this would be so complicated. If anyone has seen this board or knows how to help I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Edit: I've figured out the lettering on the two 8 pin and the one six pin thing... don't really know what to call them.
8 pin #1: A5269_8M4CAC
8 pin #2: MAIKE 25040BSSIG 1507
6 pin: LPS F3510 (There is a delta symbol between LPS and F3510) Hopefully this could provide some useful information.

Update: I've been having to play around with soldering and whatnot, and I've got the screen to light up, but it's all white and kind of streaky. I'm not sure exactly what that means but maybe if I keep playing around with it I might (fingers crossed) get it working. To get where I am I've soldered the power directly to pin 2 on the A5269_8M4CAC chip. Still hoping to hear from someone who has any idea on how to help.

Btw here's the back of the board, I'm not sure if it will, but it may help.

Connect 3.3v from the pi to 3.3 pad on the back of the board and that should work. Connect GND and composite to the regular pads. on the front.

Huzzah! It works! Screen resolution is to be expected but it does work! Thanks Hex for the assistance, literally could not do it without you!
