i have usb sound card setup and sound is working in menu and in game
but i have no sound in boot splash video, how to fix this

This definitely works in RetroPie 4.3

Are you sure you're following the instructions correctly? Its easy to make a typo or not actually save the new configuration.

Post a screen shot of the terminal with edited code?
