Has anyone gotten one of these to work for the USB hub? Note that it works great out of the box. I've now tried two with the ports removed, and I can't get them to work. It looks like they have traces going out to the clips on the sides that hold the port to the board. We're they using these to close a circuit?

Not that 5V seems to be making it to the plug. Just no data that I can tell.

It's almost like it's not completing a circuit. Very strange...
