So I was able to get everything re-installed and it appears to be working perfectly. Fingers crossed no more issues.

I am trying to install the "Storm Trooper" theme but I am unable to upload files to the theme folder. Any suggestions on how to install downloaded themes?

Are you using winscp? And it won't let you copy to the theme folder?

I think I had a similar problem. If I recall correctly I moved the stormtrooper folder to the /boot directory. And then moved it manually via the terminal.

It's been a little while, I can't recall exactly.

I'm using Filezilla. It acts like it is trying to transfer and then it says files not transfered. Ill see if I can upload to boot and then transfer.
