Great, I will look into this for sure. Thanks again and I'm sure I'll be back with more questions soon.

Re: Newbie with questions about 1st build.
Ok. I think I'm starting to get a grasp of everything I need to do.
So if I start off with the "mintyPi_v4.img" as my base, it comes with "retrogame" pre-installed, and that allows me to use the gpio's for controls? So I won't need to follow this "https://sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=57"?
Then I will still need to edit the "config.txt" in order to get audio from the gpio because the mintypi uses usb audio?
Then it's just a matter of connecting everything correctly and getting it all to fit?
I'm just trying to wrap my head around all the software and code/scripts adjustments as I feel more comfortable with the hardware side of things.
I am super excited/nervous to get started on my first build and I want to make sure I have as few surprises and setbacks as possible.

Re: Newbie with questions about 1st build.
So yeah you won't need to follow that guide if you use the minty image. Just use the gpio list I posted earlier and solder your buttons to those Gpios. And yes, add the pwm line to the config.txt.

Re: Newbie with questions about 1st build.
I am looking into getting started on connecting my gpio's to my controller board and I wanted to make sure I understand the numbering. I found an image, "http://www.raspberry-projects.com/pi/wp ... inouts.jpg" that shows the gpio's by physical number and "GPIO pin" numbers?rodocop wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2018 3:25 pmThis image will work if you are using the GPIO controls, and follow the same wiring scheme as the minty pi, which is seen below, on the minty pi image in the boot directory there is a pinfile.txt which will have a number in it, 7 I believe, that is what the function button will be. If you want to change it, make it one of the buttons below, (not select, since it is the default hotkey for retropie), or wire a seperate tactile button to that GPIO:
LEFT 14 # Joypad left
RIGHT 22 # Joypad right
UP 4 # Joypad up
DOWN 5 # Joypad down
LEFTCTRL 21 # 'A' button
LEFTALT 16 # 'B' button
Z 26 # 'X' button
X 20 # 'Y' button
SPACE 15 # 'Select' button
ENTER 19 # 'Start' button
A 12 # Left shoulder button
S 6 # Right shoulder button
GPIO pin numbers not physical numbers
So for the "left" button I would connect to the "GPIO 14", aka pin number 8, not pin number 14?

Re: Newbie with questions about 1st build.
Ok, I just got the screen connected and it is blinking a lot. I used the $15 back up screen that most people are using. I didn't see my version of the screen board on the wiki so Im not totally sure how to fix this issue.
Im guessing I need to connect a wire from one of the legs of that little black rectangle on the lower right side. If anyone knows what I need to do please help.

ok, I think this might be the same board here, "https://www.sudomod.com/wiki/index.php? ... 8_Mod1.jpg"
But I don't see any info. Do I just connect the red wire as seen in the image and that is all I need to do?
