If you have an adapter, any should work.. it does need testing out as i've not seen people use it and i've had limited success.. i'm currently waiting on some new sticks to try!
Okl great, if you need some assistance, I have two here to test. I'm going to connect them for testing.
Are they connected to your board via the joystick connector provided?

Yeah or use the 4pin included cable, which will allow you to plug it in/out easily https://github.com/kiteretro/Circuit-Sw ... tick-Guide

Please let me know how it goes :) Mine will take like 3-4 weeks to arrive..

Hi guys, just an update.. I now have all the versions of the sticks, and all of them work exactly the same :) the original one that i had must have been a dud because the axis didn't work properly, and all the ones i have now work perfectly :)

With the joystick the right way up, and the fpc cable pointing DOWN towards you, going from LEFT (pin1) to RIGHT (pin6) the pinout is:

1 = GND
2 =
3 = 3.3v
4 = Y
5 = X
6 =

The blank ones are not connected to anything.

Ohh, that sounds great. I'm still waiting for my boards to test. :D
So pin 2 is the gap between pin 1 and 3, right?

Calibration works like the PSP joystick?

Is this drawing "correct" then? Thought it would be helpful to have an all-in-one infographic available out there.

My directions are true for the newer ones, or the ALPS ones (the ones with the blue/green FPC cable). For that older one I can't guarantee as i have broken my one :)

For example, this one on oshpark has it labelled differently!! https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/2p7rQYx8

All I can say is, for the blue ALPS ones, my pinout works and I have fully control :P

Here is how I have mine connected, note that in the picture the FPC cable has the exposed pins pointing UP (towards camera) because the adapter uses the real connector:

Thanks for the tip. I found them with 0.5mm pitch. :D

I ordered this board, but am not having success with kite's pinouts. Has anyone that has used this board had success? If so, were they different pinouts? I have both the orange FPC / 6 tracing version, as well as the Blue/Green, 4 tracing ALPS version Kite mentioned, both wired up without success. Ideas?

This is the configuration I've been using with the shown parts:

Ok got it to work (finally). Here's my instructions, which are slightly different then Kite's. I think the difference is the breakout boards we used. Anyway, hope this helps you all:

Getting a PS Vita Joystick (specifically PSV2000) to work with the Circuit Sword:

FPC Breakout board (get the 6P version):
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/FPC-FFC ... 0.0.grY9jT

PS Vita joystick (blue FPC cable with 4 tracings aka PSV2000):

JST SH 1.0-4 Pin Male Connector Plug:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DU ... UTF8&psc=1

Solder the 4-pin connector the following points on the TOP of the FPC Breakout board
(top side is the side with the FPC connector), and connect to the JOY1 port on the Circuit Sword PCB:

Pin 2: Yellow wire – X-AXIS
Pin 3: White wire – 3.3V
Pin 4: Red wire - GROUND
Pin 6: Black wire – Y-AXIS

Wire the breakout board just like the one in the image here. The joystick ribbon cable is upside down in the photo though, so just flip the ribbon over and reattach and you're good. Also, make sure you've enabled the joystick in the game boy zero/CM3. Without that, it will never work.
Hope this gets you going!
