Has anyone attempted to implement haptic feedback/rumble support? If so could you share how you did it?

I would love to try it myself.

Rumble/haptic support sounds nice, but has to have software (read game) support.
As far as I know only the ds lite had rumble support with a separate rumble pack that could be inserted in the gba card slot.
But there were only a handful of games that really supported it, in other games it just did nothing.
I don't know of any other handhelds (that the zero can emulate that is) that had or have rumble/haptic support.
So recap, sounds nice but is it worth the effort trying to implement it.....

This has been asked already at https://www.sudomod.com/forum/viewtopic ... ion#p46788

With some people using CM3's or Pi3's these days there are many PS1 games that use the rumble feature, and when I use a PS4 controller with my Pi3 rumble works with the games it should. (At least in PS1 games, I honestly havn't tried it with GBC and GBA games). Would be nice to see that implemented in a Pi Game Boy.
Even with a PiZero there are GBC games like Pokemon Pinball that use a rumble Pak cartridge.
Then on GBA there is WarioWare: Twisted! and Drilldozer which include force feedback, and in the case WarioWare: Twisted! also a accelerometer. (Which would probably be near impossible to implement on a emulator).
Then there is this (probably incomplete) list of games on GBC and GBA that use force feedback, tilt sensor or combination of both.
SpoilerShow
GBC
Perfect Dark - Rumble Pak
Legend Of The River King 2 - Rumble Pak
The Little Mermaid 2 - Pinball Frenzy - Rumble Pak
Nascar Challenge - Rumble Pak
Polaris Snocross - Rumble Pak
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer - Rumble Pak
Test Drive Off-Road 3 - Rumble Pak
Tonka Raceway - Rumble Pak
Vigilante 8 - Rumble Pak
Zebco Fishing - Rumble Pak
Ready To Rumble Boxing - Rumble Pak
Hole In One Golf - Rumble Pak
Top Gear Pocket - Rumble Pak
Missile Command - Rumble Pak
Majesco 10 Pin Bowling - Rumble Pak
3-D Ultra Pinball: Thrill Ride - Rumble Pak
Pokemon Pinball - Rumble Pak
Kirby Tilt and Tumble - Accelerometer
Command Master - Accelerometer

GBA
Drill Dozer - Rumble Pak
Yoshi Topsy Turvy - Accelerometer
Koro Koro Puzzle Happy Panechu - Accelerometer
WarioWare: Twisted - Accelerometer, Rumble Pak
So recap, sounds nice but is it worth the effort trying to implement it.....
I would say YES to rumble but it isn't worth the effort for the Accelerometer for the 5 games that actually use it. I know no one asked about accelerometer support but WarioWare: Twisted sent me down that rabbit hole. Whilst there isn't thousands of games with rumble support if someone has the know how and inclination it would be possible but very difficult and probably require custom code (according to Kite and I trust his judgement). I think it would be worth it.
(Easy to say when it wouldn't be me doing the hard work  )
