Unconventional Gaboze Pocaio build

Post by KingF » Sat Aug 18, 2018 12:49 pm

Despite never having built a GBZ, I'm looking to be a little ambitious with a Gaboze build to try and make it more ideal for me.

My main thought was upgrading from the 2.4 inch TFT to a 3.2 inch. I know others have done a 2.8, but looking at the housing it appears I could fit a 3.2 inch assuming there's no issues I'm overlooking. I realize I would have to custom cut a glass lens to make it work.

Secondly, I was hoping to do an upgraded battery to possibly a 3,000 MaH. Would this be safe to run?

Lastly, I was planning to nix a few components I wasn't planning to utilize. I was going to leave out the sound board, speaker, and headphone jack for now. I also may need to leave out the LED indicator since the larger screen config may cover it up anyway. Would the Pocaio still run fine with these components left out?

Thanks

A 3.2 won't fit, you could fit a 3000 mah but it would be a VERY tight fit. The gaboze will run fine without any of the sound components however it needs the resistor next to the screen to stop the screen from biting out.
