Circuit sword HDMI resolution

Post by McGyver » Sat Oct 06, 2018 10:06 am

Since there is no actual circuit sword category I post this here:

On the circuit sword operating system: is there actual a handy solution to have a full HDMI or maybe 720p resolution available without change a lot of settings? The reason: I want to set up my circuit sword build as a mobile KODI solution but I recognized it is really unsatisfying to run KODI on 320x240...

There was an answer from Kite with the idea of "One time reboot to HDMI"... is this or any similar solution already existing?

If you update your CS software, you'll see that i have implemented the 'one time reboot to hdmi' and sound will come from HDMI too ;) although you'll need to turn the vol to like 80-100% on the CS for it to be auidable out of HDMI TV speakers.

Once updated (or flash the NEW image that is v1.3.0) you can go to the menu and find the 'one time reboot to hdmi'

About the cloning to HDMI function running on CS: is this taking significant cpu power? I am asking because since this is not so much necessary anymore after boot one time to HDMI is existing. I am thinking to deactivate this if it is improve something in overall speed.

It uses about 1% CPU, on a quad core system isn't really much.. if you don't want it, then edit the file on your pc "config-cs.txt" (which is /boot/config-cs.txt on the pi) and change "CLONER=ON" to:

Code: Select all

# Cloner settings
CLONER=OFF

Thank you for your reply. Really easy and handy how you managed your settings inside the operating system adaptations.

Are you running Kodi from your GBZ?

How do you manage to navigate Kodi? I've only been able to navigate round using the on-screen keyboard function. It would be a lot nicer to be able to use the d-pad and buttons.
