Having followed Wermy's guide for the GBZ, I have managed to get the majority of the main components assembled, installed and working.
The issue i am facing is getting retropi to recognise the controls from the teensy.
Ive installed arduino on the teensy and can confirm all controls work as keyboard strokes however when trying to connect it to the pi through the USB hub it isnt picking it up.
Retropi boots up and the display indicates to configure the controls however im pressing all of the buttons but nothing is being picked up.
Any advise or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Is the hub confirmed working? Try bypassing it and see if it works

Re: GBZ First build. Teensy and Pi issue.
Most issues I have with regards to the usb hub is if it works with a pi zero, I have a massive pile of ones that don't!
I would certainly question that first

By bypassing the USB hub do you mean to remove it and conect the wires directly from the Pi to the teensy.
Re: GBZ First build. Teensy and Pi issue.
I bypassed the USB hub and soldered the green and white wires from the teensy to the green and white wires on the Pi along with connecting the two power cables (red and black) from the teensy to the power strip. Each individual component in the build is getting power however the key pad controls and the Pi are still not communicating with each other. Every time i turn the GBZ on it asks me to configure controls but the button presses are not doing anything.

Try connecting the aio to a pc and see if it is registered there, if not likely an issue with the board, if yes then maybe the pi or wiring.
