Hello! I'm working on my first build of a Gameboy Zero. Its been going well however I've run into a bit of an issue. This is what happened:

I had just finished everything aside from wiring the L and R buttons. I turned it on for a test and it all worked, screen, pi, sound, and buttons. I was having issues getting the select button to register and the X and Y not registering every time. I took it apart, changed out the silicone pads and while I was at it, wired the L and R buttons. During this process, I lifted the power input pad accidentally and talked to tinkerboy to see where I can rewire it. After following his instructions, the power returned however the buttons and audio both stopped working. The image shows where I wired the power to fix the issue:
I have been messing around with this issue for a week or so now. I tried the following:

Checking the GPIO Config file and verifying it was correct (it was)
Reflashed the SD card (no result)
Checked wire continuity(it all appears to be wired fine, nothing touching where its not supposed to)
Using a jumper wire to get a response (not sure if i did this correctly but got no button responses, however i was able to the power the pi off and on via the jumper wire, just no buttons)

I have no idea on where to begin with fixing the sound either as I'm not sure the leading cause of the issue.
In its current state, the pi powers on, boots emulation station, and waits for button input to configure the gamepad.

I'm completely unsure where to go from here. I'm still pretty new to all of this. Important to note: I do not have a multimeter and have been doing everything in my power to solve the issue. If anyone has any ideas on how to correct this it would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Well, in order for you to actually check wire continuity you will need a multimeter, I suggest buying one which has an continuity setting with an audible beep. That will make it much easier to check continuity. Doing it by eye is not enough sometimes.

So you have power going to the board, and the screen turns on so that is good. Do you have pics of how your power module is wired to the board? You should have 5v and ground coming from you power boost, I assume those two wires are wired to your red circle in the pic?

At any point did you ever short the board (ie, ground and 5v touched). That could cause issues with the audio amp. Also, that board uses PWM audio correct, check that the proper lines are present in the config.txt. Do you get sound from the headphones at all? Maybe it is an issue with the speaker? Could also swap the volume wheel to see if that makes a difference?

Also, to do the jumper wire test, connect a wire to a ground pad, and then hold that wire to the corresponding button you want to test (just use the labelled pads that you soldered too. Grounding that will result in a button press, and if emulation station is asking to configure input you should see it respond.

Sorry, that's a lot, but it's just some things I would test if it were mine. Keep us posted with anything that you tried, and post a few more clear pics of all your other wiring, it may help us diagnose.
