Hi,
Im confused, I gave my friend a display module to desolder the jst connector and i think he ripped off both video pads. What do you think? And after solder wires to board and Rpi it shows only white screen. Help!

Best to get a friend that knows how to Desolder....

Also it might be a good idea to pick up a new screen as well now....
(If you couldn’t Desolder the JST properly, your not going to be able to fix what been done... the fix requires a bit more skill)

But before you do that...
(That’s get a new screen, but go right ahead and find that other friend)

Please provide better images of the pads on the board...

There was also no need to Desolder the JST..

.

So I can just cut the 12v and modify it to 5v without desoldering the jst? Jeez so need to buy a new display
😑

I cant (really no one can) e certain that you need to buy another screen.....
(thats why I sugested posting images of the board)

that's the GearBest Screen (if not very similar)....
it doesnt require a 5V mod...

I don't know if its you or your friend that's doing the cutting or soldering
But I'd keep everything to a bare minimum, don't tackle things you lack experience on (or that you haven't read up on)

worst case scenario you are going to have to get another screen...
if you get the same one...
you Don't need a 5V mod, it runs straight of 5V
and
You Don't need to remove the JST connector
