Hello,
I just modified my display and it is totally dead, no back light or image.....
I checked before hand and it was not 5v compatible out of the box.
I modified it according to this tutorial https://youtu.be/_MtN_s4tVK0?t=230
This was the same screen he used in the video.
Here is where i bought it https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045 ... 1688c576f4 (this is the link he provides)
I tested my cable and am receiving power but nothing happens please help.
It is really not in the budget to replace this right now so if i can get it working it would be much appreciated.

Re: screen help
Do you have pics of the soldering to the pi to confirm it is good?

Make sure the AV wire is connected here

And be sure you have an sd card with retropie image on it. With no image you'll see no display or backlight.

Re: screen help
I was trying it on a play station to see. I had the ground and av2 on the RCA out to see but even hitting the power button on the screen did nothing. I also had the ground wired to power for a test.

Re: screen help
How are you powering the screen then? There’s no power button on the screen (that three button breakout board is for adjusting contrast, brightness, etc). You’d need to run the 5v and ground to a power source too.
First - try running the power just to the pin on the chip you removed. You don’t have to bridge to the original spot. Second, I think you need to move the power up one more pin closer to the 220 cap.
