Need help building a GBZ using the Hyperpixel 4.0

Hey guys,
This is my first GBZ build and I was able to get my hands on a Hyperpixel 4.0. It uses all 40 pins on the raspberry pi for power and display but ive seen many builds now that use the GPIO pins from the Pi. I watched Hipcats video on his build and see that he has the wires go into the pi and others into the powerboost but its not clear to me how he made that happen. So this is what ive collected so far;
Pi 4
Hyperpixel 4.0
Tinkerboy v3.0 PCB
powerboost 1000c
5v fan
2 vita analog sticks
speaker
I want to know if anybody can suggest how i can wire this build considering i cant use the GPIO pins on the Pi for anything other than the screen.
Thanks!
