Hey all, while waiting for my GBZ parts I started messing around with a junked N64 skeleton I got running. I wanted to try and make it into a portable with all my spare parts. I thought about larger than backup camera screens and found this digital picture frame at Goodwill for $5..thought I'd see what's under the hood.

To my pleasure, the bare screen is almost the same size as the 64 PCB!

However...to my displeasure the picture frame's board is a bit beyond my comprehension...

Even if I can't get it to work, there are an abundance of good parts for my GBZ; identical power switch, volume knob, audio jack, speakers, etc. However, I hope some of you awesome and knowledgeable folks can give me some pointers for repurposing the screen.
Thanks!

i would say your first port of call would be to google an numbers you can find on the screen itself. If you can find the part numbers or screen driver numbers, you might be able to find a driver board for it similar to how you can with old laptop screens

Thanks moosepr. I found the exact screen on aliexpress:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/AT080TN ... .58.YqKkCF
The only thing I could find in terms of ordering was this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HDMI-DVI-VGA- ... SwAL9Uj-Y2
But that can't be right...the ribbon connectors look correct, but the rest seems excessive...

Yeah they do tend to go crazy with the connectors! It looks like it might work, but it's an expensive experiment!

Since I'm going to go as minimal as I can with extra cost on this one (reclaimed wood, homemade buttons, leftover GBZ electronic components) I think I'll just keep hunting...
Thanks for the help!
