Audio Help

Post by RuttleHeads » Fri Sep 29, 2017 8:26 pm

Hello,

I have tried hooking up speakers and headphone to an RPI3 but I am only getting static. I've turned the volume wheel all the way up, but nothing. I would say that it's a low volume issue and that I'd have to raise the volume in the config file, but I'm not getting any game sound at all, just static.

This is the wiring that I've got so far.

The battery is just to show it has power to the board, I'm using a power boost connected to a switch as well.

any help would be awesome! Thank you!

First try just a speaker hooked up. If you still have static, try another speaker. If you still do, then try changing volume level or just take the usb audio route. MAKE SURE YOUR WIRES ARE NICE AND SHORT. If the speaker works on its own but it goes nuts with the wheel, try the wheel with another source and/or speaker, or make sure you have a 10K wheel. Just test it all in individual parts.
