Ive been wiring tac switches like this (see pic) but when i look at other peoples projects they seem to do it differently. Am I just crazy and they are doing it like this and I cant see it? Or is there a better way to wire up switches that I never learned? (Thank you for your help Im sorry for asking something so basic)

Heres how i've been doing it:

Your wiring is ok! The wiring on the picture is very simelar: these guys just make use of the internal bridge inside thise switches from left to right. You can measure this: upper left and right are bridged and lower left and right are bridged in these switches. So you can enter your ground on one side and distribute the ground on the other side to next switches if need. This way helps sometimes to use less wire for ground distribution.
