I'm planning to get a new screen anyways, no worriescrispy_tofu wrote:Aw shucks...
The 4 pin chip was the most likely to be the regulator as it is actually a regulator according to the datasheet and it's very conveniently placed near the power input...

Re: No display on car monitor?
Looking at the 8-pin chip, its pin 1 is connected to Pin 58 of the AMT630 Video Display Controller, which is AVDD_ADC - the analog ADC supply voltage. This doesn't seem right...
I'll look at it again tonight. There's only so many ICs on the board that can regulate the voltage...

Yes I do, but sadly it is dead..Fleder wrote:Did you try to resolder it? If you're lucky it still works.

Re: No display on car monitor?
Welp, I'm afraid by helping more I might break someone else's screen again...
The only thing I can suggest is to probe each IC and see if it is converting 12V to 5V... (try checking the small 6 pin ICs as well, be careful not to short/remove anything until you're sure)

Re: No display on car monitor?
Its not your fault, I'm thinking it might be me damage the board when removing the IC. I use a normal heat gun first and realize that is a dumb idea..crispy_tofu wrote:Welp, I'm afraid by helping more I might break someone else's screen again...

Re: No display on car monitor?
Sorry to jump on your thread but does anyone know if this display i have will work out of the box at 5v?
its a bw model sold by bw corp on amazon uk
heres a picture of the board
is there any easy way of testing without soldering it all together?

Yes, there is, but it would help t see the whole board.Robots86 wrote:is there any easy way of testing without soldering it all together?
It looks like this one: https://s20.postimg.org/6jvbxrfml/mamo_board_2.jpg
As you can see on my spreadsheet.
But i am not sure, so you should use a multimeter before getting started,
or you will end up like poor 1461748123 here.
Compare the ICs names with the one from my picture guide here,
if those are the same and everything else is in the same place,
you should be fine with following it.
