Looking for a 54 pin 0.5mm fpc breakout board

Post by tinkerBOY » Tue Jul 25, 2017 10:44 pm

I can't seem to find any 54 pin FPC breakout board though there 50 or 60 pins available like this one http://s.aliexpress.com/UfAni6ry

I guess the 60 pin fpc board is fine for 54 pin LCD?

for a breakout board just use the bigger one but only use the relevant pins
ok, the one you linked only has the ground tab connections for the exact size FPC connector.
something like the Adafruit one has that strip going all along so you can attach smaller connectors if needed...
like so:

like this, but AFAIK there isn't a 60-pin version of the ada one https://www.adafruit.com/product/1492

If you want a plain board I can design one lickity split the just solder the connector on.

That would be great, thank you! Im actually just learning how to do it in Eagle but welcome anything i can compare or play on.

Preview of what im currently working on using eagle's autorouting feature. Looks messy, haha. I will try to learn how to manually route the connections.

Any ideas on what led driver chip to use for a 3.5" lcd? The backlight needs 18v-20v.

Give me your schematic files and I'll put it together for you, I think Kite mentioned a few chips for the backlight and you can use Adafruit's schematics to copy their backlight setup.

Hi,

i would love to have such a board for connecting the 3,5 inch screen to it.
Like: http://www.buydisplay.com/default/3-5-i ... lq035nc111
Would be optimal, if the board has a 54 PIN zif connector.

Can you add a backlight driver with external pwm to it? So we can drive it from the Atmega 32u4 (Arduino Pro Micro/Leonardo) and have a full digital brightness control!
8-)

thanks in advance!

I made some alterations to his files but the driver chip was not yet added, will see if I have time for it and I don't know if your screen is pin compatible with his LCD he plans to use so the board might be useless for you.
