1) Cracked two repro DMG-01 cases trying to drill button holes. Have since learned to always hand-"drill" with a step-bit.
2) Smashed the LCD in my daily-driver GBZ by trying to tighten the screw holding the shell together near the HDMI port.
3) Ripped the micro USB port off my Leonardo Micro control board
4) Constantly cutting/breaking wires coming from PWM circuits buried in huge mounds of hot glue that I can't easily access anymore
5) Getting overzealous with my L/R button hole drilling, only to realize I killed the attachment points for the cartridge reader
6) Buying LCD screens as experiments, only to find that they won't fit a DMG-01 shell.
7) Buying GBA shells with no actual plan to build anything with them
8) Why did I buy a 100-pack of the DMG-01 conductive button rubber thingies?

LOL! I definitely have been guilty of this! "I'm sure I'll use them at some point!"

Don't grab a falling soldering iron which has been on for the last 15 or so minutes.

i solder mostly for my job micro strain gauges with tiny tabs on

i can add 2 peices of useful advise

1. always steady you hand on the surface and have the parts and items in a 3rd hand or a solid surface

2. never catch a falling soldering iron (may sound daft but if your drop it your instinct is to catch it)

Thank god I'm not the only one! I get embarrassed when I tell my wife that I need to go into my dedicated Raspberry Pi drawer to grab another Pi. Micro Center had a deal where they were selling the Pi0 (non W) on sale for .99 cents and I stocked up. I recently bought half a dozen Pi0w for projects. That's not including the army of Pi3s I have laying around.
