Not a big Jump. From 1.2 to 1.4GHz, good for N64 games.

Note that Raspberry Pi 3B+ does consume substantially more power than its predecessor. We strongly encourage you to use a high-quality 2.5A power supply,
What about the Compute Module?

CM1, CM3 and CM3L will continue to be available. We may offer versions of CM3 and CM3L with BCM2837B0 in due course, depending on customer demand.

Still no better for N64 games. The limitation is with the GPU, not CPU. No changes with the GPU = no changes with performance for N64.

Looks like there's a nice bump in memory throughput: https://www.raspberrypi.org/magpi/raspb ... enchmarks/
That combined with the better thermal management could mean we do see a modest real-world bump in N64. :) Here's hoping.

I love that we baseline the performance of a Pi on how well it handles N64

well it is kinda the next big jump for handheld gaming. there isn're really anything that does it well that could be classed as a viable handheld device (apart from expensive phones and things like the Xu4 which is just too hot/power hungry to work)

once we have a RPi cheap device that can play N64 without breaking a sweat, then we'll have a whole new batch of handhelds...

I'm just hoping they put the B0 into the CM3... ;)
