So as I was goofin around on the interwebbings 
, I discovered this awesome invention:
It doesn't use a raspberry pi to run, but the idea of diy gaming projects is similar to that of GBZ and other gaming builds I've seen here. It would be cool if more people decided to do more of this stuff.
