I don't use a stencil myself, but I solder these kind of parts on a daily basis. usually bigger and with way more pins. thats why I was thinking an option where I only solder the DFN/QFN parts. the rest can be done with a home solder station with a decent tip.
I too would be interested in this board assuming it came with the difficult stuff pre-soldered!

Seth why not use a cheaper manufacturer since this is meant to be inserted very few times into the cart slot, the SD card is removable and that is the whole point of this mod right?

May I suggest pointing the SD card slot facing up so it can be inserted from the top of the cartridge shell so it's easier to remove and insert and not have to worry about the actual PCB being removed and inserted numerous times so you can go with a cheap manufacturer :)

Just wanted to let everyone know. I think there is a minor issue with these. It worked fine in my GBZ project with my very carefully layed out main board to connect to, but @Cannikin is reporting issues with a ribbon cable connection to the edge connector. I believe the issue is that there needs to be even more decoupling cap at the micro SD card holder. I'm going to try to get Cannikin to verify that adding more cap fixes his. If it does then I will offer 4 choices. You can simply add more yourself. I can send you the cap to add in a through hole package that should be pretty easy to solder and you can add it, you can send it back to me and Ill add more cap and send it back or you can simply send it back to me for a full refund +1$ for your shipping.

Thanks

PRS.

I will keep this post updated.
