[Solved] CSO - Not all rails are on

Post by goodBEan » Wed Feb 21, 2018 8:51 pm

Previously I followed the steps on the wiki no problem. I was able to do an electronics test and the first boot. However earlier after resoldering of the fan I ran another boot test and I could not get it to work. After doing a new first start test. I noticed that not all the rails are on.

One other thing is that I am still waiting on my battery to be delivered so I am powering this through the usbc port.

the only 2 that are on are vcc and v5

Have you got a close up of your fan soldering? Have you used a multimeter to check the fan isn't shorted?

The 2v5 and 1v8 are POWERED by the 3v3 regulator.. the fact that you 3v3 LED is off is the reason the others are. The fan runs on 3.3v so i'm questioning your solder on the fan :)

There was a short on the fan pins. Got it working

For the record, the wires on the fan suck ass, near impossible to strip and solder. I had to use some telephone cable to get it to work. I am thinking for future version a plug would work better or a fan with thicker wires.
