Power switch doesnt work; Problems with buttons

Post by JCDenton5 » Sun Feb 04, 2018 2:05 am

First i would like to thank kite for the great work and support! Second, sorry for my written englisch ;)

I have two bigger problems with my "ready" GBZ-Projekt (Super AIO V0.6c)

1.) The power switch has no function. When i put in any power (USB-cable direkt or battery), the Pi boots directly normal. On/Off position has no effect to the Pi. The only way to get the Pi off is to disconnect from the power source.
The blue power-led is off when switch is in off position and on when switch is in on position.

2.) The buttons doesn't work at the point in boot sequenz when i get the message " Joypad detected ..."
At this point, no input from the buttons has an effect. But for example, i can push the wifi mode (wifi-Led) on/off with mode button and cross button and when i push the top right button (X-Button), i get a quiet sound out from the speaker.

I say thanks for any ideas!

Hi,

Thank you for being very accurate with your description! From what I can tell, your soldering and power switch is correct (by the BLUE LED going on/off) and the input is working (wifi on/off) however it is like the "mode button is permanently held down". The fact that it boots up by itself is a concern, and I am 99% sure that I will need to take a look at it myself :/ Is it ok for you to PM me and we can work on returning it to me to repair and I will send out? I suspect it is something to do with the safe shutdown circuit messing up, which means I have to replace a few components!

I assume it powered on even it you UNPLUG the back board (those 6pin connectors)?

I've just done a brief inspection this evening on it, tomorrow I will be pulling out the iron and working out what component isn't working properly! :)
