I've read well over a hundred pages here in the forums and I think I have a handle on Kite's CS GB assembly. (Thank you YaYa!!!) I'm however struggling with the power switch installation and I feel like I'm missing something. Everything else with Kite's CS kit seems very intuitive, but this power switch isn't, nor is the wiki assembly page...

The slide power switch is hovering ~2mm above the cartridge slot back plate. I have 4 power switch covers from different vendors and all have the same issue. Not only is the mode button switch the wrong size (known documented issue), the case hole for it is much lower. What am I missing here for the mounting?

The best I can figure at this point is to extract the power slide switch off the board and mount it upside down (trimming the the solder posts to the right length), then mounting it similar as to the Super-AIO board assembly. This would also make it easier to get a good mount for the replacement mode button switch that my local electronics parts store had:

The DC barrel holder in the design would obviously not fit but you can shave the walls designed for the DC plug and have a flat surface to stick the bottom of the tactile switch

Had the same 'issue'. Just mounted it at an angle and glued it in place.
Does not look just as nice as the other parts but works well enough!

1. It's supposed to. It slides along the spiky thing that looks a bit like a comb on the other side of the shell so the power button is supported from both sides.

2. As others have said, install it at an angle. Worked fine for me.

Looks a little bit like yout have cut that things out of your case.

What we need is one of the fine fellows with a 3d printer to design a bracket to screw the new switch bracket to.

HoolyHoo to the rescue once again!

Ok, I finished my build (too busy playing to post in the build show-off corner) and I've solved my power switch mounting issue.

tl;dr: Just order HoolyHoo's part...

Below is how I mounted the switch securely for the more stubborn people like me who take too long to build things.
I modified a game link port cover that came in my case kit:


The notched part slides under the power switch. (sorry for my poor phone macro photos)


After epoxy was used which holds the switch very firmly in place:


I also trimmed the power/mode PCB a bit as the tab with "PWRSW" silkscreened on it was a bit too long preventing my mode switch from sitting flush inside the case. I suspect that had the proper mode switch part been installed that Kite specified for this board, it would not have been an issue. I only trimmed <1mm from the end and I suspect it's unnecessary for almost everyone. I'm just trying too hard to make it perfect...

The mode button switch didn't get centered, but at least it works great and the epoxy on the switch sides isn't too noticeable...


Overall, the back side came out pretty clean when everything was epoxied and secured down.
