It also appears mine is having the same issue as above. a few momentary blinks of a yellow light above the red one when you plug the battery in but after that no more activity from that light unless the usb is plugged in while it's on. When it's off it doesn't come on, and it doesn't charge the battery. Will come on fine with usb plugged in, and when the battery still had it's initial charge the board ran fine using it.

I think I figured out what's causing this. At least in my case. Many batteries have reverse wires to the jst. Very dumb not to check this, but if you plug it in...... it kills the charge IC.. I think. I'll be sending you a couple, Kite. It's my fault so please feel free to charge me to fix them. I switched from my normal battery and did not check like I should have.

maybe going forward you can add some kind of protection for this, if possible.

I agree protection would be good, I will have to look in to that so that it does not disrupt charge ability. It's a hard lessen, but you should never assume a battery has the same polarity to another one EVER! :) Send me a mail (unless you have already done) and I can help out.

There is actually an alternative that if you have one of those TP4056 modules, you can wire that in pretty easily and gain charging back

Hi Kite,

I am also experiencing the same issue. I've emailed through via this forum the symptoms to you and request for a fix (if possible) Best bet may be to put a warning in the Electrical Testing section on the Wiki to check the batteries for their polarity before wiring up. Common sense to most, but not for me unfortunately. I've not had much experience in soldering or using these types of batteries.

Thanks for your awesome CSO and follow up support. It is an amazing piece of tech!
