[Solved]-CSL Audio

Hello together,
i have a problem with my circuit sword lite. The audio wont work, doesnt matter if i use the 3.5mm jack or the speakers.
I run the test mode on the pi zero and got an audio usb error. Switching from external usb to internal usb fixed that issue in the test mode, but not my sound problem.

I already checked the voltage from gnd to s+/s- and i only have 0.22V i think that this already marks the problem but i dont know how to fix it. First thing i did was reheating every soldering i did to make sure everything is solderd up nicely, no difference.

By the way i played with the settings in retropie and nothing changed, also the sound setting keep resetting itself back to zero Percent, only in PCM mode it does´nt, in the other settings i "only" get a "Volumecontrol::init() - Failed to find mixer elements" error.

I also already used the search function, but did´nt found a useful tip for me.

So hopefully someone can help me with my small problem.

Cheers and many thanks
ZTrick

Hi,

The switch for external/internal USB must be set to internal for the sound to work at all. The 'init' error you are seeing is unrelated and you can ignore it. The voltage is not relevant as that isn't how speakers work here :)

Are you using this exact link/image: https://github.com/kiteretro/Circuit-Sw ... tag/v1.0.0 ?

Based on the testing saying audio PASS that is good, it shows your USB soldering is good :)

Can you please re-image using that link above, and don't change any settings to do with sound in the menus.

Check now (make sure to move the volume wheel).

If it still has no sound, then remove the back board ribbon cable thing and power it on my holding the little button on the board.. it *should* be at loudest setting here (again, ignore any menu items about volume)

Hi again,
first of all: thank you for the fast response, your awesome work and support.

Just to make sure, last time i only installed the image (the one linked above). I ignorded the source code zips,
do i have to put them in a special folder?

Many thanks

You just need to download the big .zip file, you don't need anything else. You don't need to do anything to the image after putting it on SD. It's all configured to work without any changes :)

Hooray :) do you know what the issue might have been? I had initially suspected you had put the wrong image on to it (the CS one rather than the CSL one) hence pointing out the direct link to use, but of course it could have been something else :P
