[Circuit Sword CM3] Weird wifi issues

Post by Ludaris » Sun Mar 10, 2019 3:01 pm

Hey,

I'm having weird wifi connection problems with my circuit sword board.
When I start up the Gameboy and connect to the CM3 via SSH relatively quickly, everything works normally and as supposed.
But if I wait about 3-5 minutes, I can't connect via SSH anymore although the wifi symbol at the top right shows a connection and I have about 70% connection strength.
The only thing that helps is to restart the system.

Even if I log in to the CM3 via ssh (with Putty) and wait about 3-5 minutes again without executing a command, I lose the connection again and can't connect anymore (Wifi symbol still indicates connection).

As long as i enter commands or transfer data via sftp it will work until the CM3 has "nothing to do" for a certain time again.

I guess that's not normal, is it?

I've already tried:
- new image installed on the SD card (newest version)
- adapted wpa_supplicant.conf and activated the SSH server in the retropie menu
- I created a file called "ssh" and put it in /boot

Thanks for the help. :)

Could you grab the log files and upload? https://github.com/kiteretro/Circuit-Sw ... -log-files

The syslog tends to have more information, might show us some clues

Yeah of course.

What I found out now is, that if I wait another 5-10min it will work for a short time and then again not any more.
The wifi symbol shows a connection during the whole time.

Quick other question:
Which poti can i use here? (See picture)

So from your logs, the hardware is fine. It appears that your router or perhaps something to do with DHCP specifically isn't playing ball. According to this issue it is where DHCP decides to renew the lease, and looking at your logs there are a LOT of IPv6 related changes happening.. a solution appears to be to disable IPv6 in your settings and you can do this on the CS, follow this post and see if that helps..

You could also try disabling IPv6 on your router, or using a different AP.

That thing you have pointed to is a digital volume rocker, you can find it by looking for a "navigation switch". If you want to use an analog potentiometer, then use the "AVOL" connector that is on the PCB at a 45 degree angle above where the battery is
