VMU Shell and Cap

Post by grz82 » Sat Jul 25, 2020 4:34 pm

I just bought an Ender 3 Pro and I've upgraded to a dual gear extruder, added a glass build plate, added TL smoothers, new bowden tube, and stiffer leveling springs. I'm getting comfortable with the print quality so I decided to try building something in CAD to try my hand at printing a design I built from scratch... kinda.

It's not an exact replica; I added holes for L+R buttons on the back, a bigger opening for a 1.54" screen and I've omitted some of the interior supports for more room. It's slightly thicker than a real VMU, I'm not good enough in CAD to add all the funky tapers the actual VMU has. And I've learned some of the features do not print so well (for me anyway). I also have a file that is closer to an actual VMU if anyone is interested.
