Wermy Inspired DMG Stand

Hi all!

I always wanted a display stand for my pi3 gameboy, and when wermy posted his I decided it was time to get my butt in gear. So I took a few glances at his and designed something similar:

I liked the tilted back look so I kept that, and then spiced up the rest of the stand a bit with a pi logo and embedded text on the base of the stand. I went with 'gameboy pi' and not 'gameboy zero' because I have a pi3 powering mine, so the zero didn't seem appropriate. I also adjusted the 'ventilation' a little bit.

I printed the stand in translucent blue PETG to match my gameboy, then printed the embedded pieces in white PLA with a 0.25mm nozzle.

The files are up on thingiverse if you're interested! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2745355

Nice; now you just need to put the charging port out the headphone jack and make it a charging docking station....maybe with some LEDs!

Ohh good idea!! I bet it would be pretty easy to put a neopixel ring in the base...

Hey thanks for this, I printed one! It lifted a bit on the front but otherwise good (should have paid attention at the beginning, I checked after 3 hours). I'll likely print a new one since the imperfections bug me a bit...

First layer lifting is the scourge of humanity. Maybe throw some gluestick down on the front just to make sure it doesn't happen again?

worth a try, i'm pretty new to 3D printing so it'll take a bit before I know all the tricks.

Me too! Gluestick is a sort of temporary fix but works pretty well if the curling isn't terrible. You can probably tinker with slic3r settings to help too, dial those in for a longer term fix. I use gluestick when I'm feeling lazy sometimes :) Afterwards I get the gluestick residue off by heating the bed to 50c with a wet paper towel for 10min, then wiping it clean.
