Did some initial test on the airflow since I was finally able to come close to completing my build. I can tell you that it looks very promising. Fan blows warm air out as intended and temperature drops quickly to stop the fan. Testing was done without a heat sink :o so I imagine when I do place one it should be that much better. Looking to use a flatter larger one since there is space with the fan relocated. Very impressed :D
That really sounds promising :D
I am sure it will be as or probablly better as the orginal, and on top you got the coolness factor

how did you fix the cable length problem? i've ordered a mal/femal cable with jst plug but i'm not sure how to fix the existing fan cable to the new one...

Just used small jst connectors and spliced the cable of the fan. It’s very thin but doable.

I'm going to try your cartridge as just a vent, and go fanless to start. I'm using a larger slightly less tall heatsink on my build, it is 25mm x 25mm x 5mm high, and black anodized (black is more efficient at heat transfer with passive cooling).

This is what my heatsink looks like. Oh BTW, thanks for all your awesome work/parts.. they really make things easy/great. Been mentioning you a lot in my youtube video builds of my CSO.

i've printed a few of these now and have it dialed in quite nice. If anyone is looking for something printed just let me know. I cant print everything for everyone, but my usual fee is just send me a roll of filament if I dont have it in the color you need or shoot me a tip and cover the shipping cost here in the US.

HoolyHoo,

This looks great!

I have a dumb question though. Is this the fan mount you have been speaking of in other posts, or is there a separate project you were working on that is a fan mount without the cartridge?

Thanks! Yeah, this is my solution to the fan mount problem. I was just working on this for my build since I needed a dummy cartridge anyways and I thought it would be more efficient than other placements. It works very well so I decided to share it. I like the fact that it blows the warm air out.

There are are couple of other options on this forum that you may or may not have seen that might work for you if you prefer not to have it in the cartridge. :D

Thanks for the .stl HoolyHoo, it looks great. Will give printing it a go.
Does Kite sell the fan seperately? I got in on the 1st CSO order but the fan was optional. Or does anyone know where I could get one?
